Pitch Black Featuring Mega Darkrai ex Officially Revealed

Pitch Black, featuring Mega Darkrai ex, has now been officially revealed. As previously reported, the set will release on July 17, 2026 as the fifth English Mega Evolution expansion.

Prerelease events will take place from July 4 through July 12.

Set Details

Pitch Black will include:

• Over 115 cards
• Six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
• Four Pokémon ex
• 11 Illustration Rare Pokémon
• 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
• Six Special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
• More than 20 Trainer cards
• More than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations

• Elite Trainer Boxes
• Booster Bundles
• Blister Packs

Additional products and special collections may be revealed closer to release.

Based on Japan’s Abyss Eye

Pitch Black will be an almost 1:1 adaptation of Japan’s Abyss Eye expansion, which releases on May 22, 2026.

The Japanese set is expected to contain around 120 total cards including secret rares, meaning Pitch Black will once again be a relatively smaller English expansion.

English Cards Revealed

The English versions of Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Excadrill ex have also now been revealed.
