Pokémon has officially revealed a new Pikachu from 30th Celebration, illustrated by legendary Pokémon artist Ken Sugimori.
The card is appropriately numbered as the first Pikachu in the set, paying tribute to Sugimori's role as one of Pokémon's original artists and his long history with the franchise.
The Pikachu features a noticeably chubbier design compared to the slimmer appearance of modern Pikachu.
This artwork is a deliberate callback to Pikachu's original look from the early days of Pokémon, making the card an especially fitting addition to the franchise's 30th anniversary celebration.
30th Celebration will officially release worldwide on September 16, 2026.
Every booster pack will contain one of 30 different Pikachu cards, with each featuring a special glimmering fireworks layer across the entire card.
The 30 Pikachu cards will celebrate different artists, eras, and styles throughout Pokémon's history, giving collectors a unique Pikachu collection to chase.
