Abyss Eye Revealed Featuring Mega Darkrai ex

Abyss Eye, starring Mega Darkrai ex, has officially been revealed. It will release in Japan on May 22, 2026 as the M5 set.

Unique Reveal Timing

To coincide with a new moon, the set was revealed later than usual at 6 PM JST, following the official site’s standard update earlier in the day. A clever marketing move that ties into the set’s dark theme.

New Mega Evolutions Debut

Abyss Eye will be the first set to introduce newer Mega Evolutions from December’s Mega Dimension DLC, including Mega Darkrai.

Its Pokédex entry states:
“Its dark power blocks out the sun, plunging the surrounding area into darkness. There is no escaping its evil eye.”

Set Details

The set will include:

• 81 cards in the main set
• An estimated 35 to 40 secret rares
• Roughly 120 total cards, similar to recent sets

Price Increase Confirmed

Following rising material costs announced by Creatures earlier this year, Abyss Eye will be the first set to include price increases:

• Booster packs: 180 yen → 200 yen
• Booster boxes: 5,400 yen → 6,000 yen

English Release: Pitch Black

The cards from Abyss Eye will be adapted into the English set Pitch Black, scheduled for release on July 17, 2026.

Like recent releases, it is expected to be a near 1:1 adaptation, resulting in a smaller set size.
